Washington DC is a city that many visit with work and as such is probably much overlooked in terms of a holiday destination. I was lucky enough to be on a work trip and travelled to this wonderful City for 3 nights. . This area of the world reminded me of the City Lincoln in the UK, I found Washington peaceful and very spacious. I was blown away by the amazing sights on offer to see here. My favourite being the White House and running up the steps to see the famous statue The Lincoln Memorial I was impresses at how perfect it was and just how big. The only way to take a tour of the city is on a Segway I took a 2 hour trip and thoroughly enjoyed the experience, not only was it fun the guide was very informative. As well as amazing sights to see they have some wonderful museums to visit, my favourite being the spy museum a must for all Bond enthusiasts.
I never realised just how great this wonderful city would be and cannot wait to travel back with my family. This would make a perfect fly drive holiday as its driving distance to Annapolis a beautiful fishing town as well as the Famous Baltimore and a 3 hour drive from New York. I recommend this destination to all travellers.
